Saturday June 17th, Chris Regan, Emil Sandeman, Patrick Hocker, Robert Maun, Ruaidhrí O'Brien and Andrew Bignell traveled to Oslo to represent Sweden in the rugby league Nordic cup series.
The boys did Sweden and Spartacus proud. Ruaidhri and Patrick made the hard yards up the middle all day and continuously put their hands up for another run, Emil made some great runs with ball in hand but it was his defensive effort that really stood out and proved a headache for the Norwegian attack and Robert played with his usual "Swegian" potency with some long busting runs and strong edge defence.
Although we were beaten on the day by a very strong and well drilled Norwegian side with now over 10 clubs to select players from, the team played well and had some good patches throughout the game. Special mention to Chris Regan for taking the "trainer" duties on the day.
We are looking to strengthen the depth of the team for the two games coming up in September. One in Amsterdam on the 9th and the following weekend we play at home in Partille on the 17th, it would be great to see more Spartacus players represent Sweden.
Awesome stuff guys, it was great to be apart of!!
