The club is sad to see them go, but wish them well in their pursuit of happiness (The "pursuit of happiness" meant, and still means the pursuit of one's interests, free of the burden of unwarranted interference by anyone else.).
Lucy Heckeman, who is travelling with the Swedish National F18 7's team to Poland for the WU18 European Championship today, will as soon as she comes back, pack her bags for a four year long journey to Ireland.
She has been accepted at Athlone Institute of Technology, and will be studying Athletic and Rehab Therapy. Lucy is currently looking for a Rugby Club to play with during her stay, and knowing her total dedication and love for the sport, we are sure that she will be a contribution to whatever team she will play with. Good luck Lucy, and keep in touch!
Spartacus players and brothers Aron and Axel Qvarnström will pursue their family roots, and will be playing for Scottish club Strathendrick RFC located in the village of Fintry.
The twin brothers have a grandmother from Newcastle and a great grandmother from Scotland, so in a way they are now completing the circle. And the boys have also other rugby connections on the mainland, since the cousins of their father, Brian and Henry Patrick played for Gosforth RFC in Newcastle in the 80's. Brian Patrick, a fullback, also have a few International caps for England.
The plan is for the boys to stay a few months and work and train with the team. If all turns out well, they are not strangers to looking for a more permanent solution.
These two hard tackling young men have already gained a reputation in Swedish rugby, and we are sure they will leave a mark on their Scottish opponents too. Good luck boys and have fun!
