SPARTACUS have 5 players in the national team of under 18, called Junior Vikings. SPARTACUS players James, Viktor, Aron, Axel and Alex have been picked to represent Sweden. This morning they entered the train to start the journey to England. Junior Vikings will play Yorkshire Carnegie East Barbarians U17 on Friday 27/4, and Yorkshire Carnegie Barbarians U18 on Sunday 29/4. The boys are accompanied by Adrian 'The Happy Bear' Qvarnström.
At the same time, SPARTACUS player Lucy Heckeman is preparing for her trip to Vichy, France, on Friday, where she will play with the Swedish 7's team in the F18 European Sevens Championship. Sweden is scheduled to play three games on Sunday the 29th against England, Georgia and Russia.
The seniors are also preparing for an International game, when Finnish touring side of the Old Town Shamrocks RFC comes to visit the club at Lexby IP. The game is scheduled to start at 2:00 pm. SPARTACUS invites everyone to come down to the club house for a great game of rugby, and to meet and talk to other rugby enthusiasts!
The Swedish mens XV National team is also going out of the country this weekend, and SPARTACUS have one player representing the club there too. It is Janne Johansson that will be travelling with the Swedish team to play Lithuania in the city of Telsiai this Saturday.
Since 2016 the two teams have met 2 times and have one win each. Lithuania must be considered favourites since they are ranked as No 1 in the group and Sweden as No 4.
SPARTACUS RUGBY is very proud of all our players, seniors, juniors and youth players alike, and would like to wish everyone playing this weekend good luck!
